Ophiuchus hail from Nashville, TN and come forth with a blackened thrash attack. For an unsigned band, and for a debut, Sic Gorgiamus Aallos Subjectatos Nunc has pretty good production; every instrument can be clearly heard. Sic..Nunc will have your blood pumping faster than a drunk driver's brakes while they hydroplane.

These guys play fast, evil, and I can't get enough of it. The lyrics are overly anti-Christian, and you wouldn't expect anything less from a black metal group. The drumming on “Chaos Reigns” is stellar. I like the way the band is able to play songs in quick bursts and keep the same intensity level throughout the longer songs.

“The Sum Of An Age” has the band going in a more progressive black metal sound, which Ophiuchus pull off quite well. The guitar solo over the drums towards the end are excellent. “Back To Dirt” dabbles in atmospheric, showing a wide range in the genre of black metal for the band. The over six minute epic “Frostillicus” brings all of Ophiuchus' sound together in one song, and is a perfect knockout punch ending to the album.

I can't believe these guys aren't on a label currently. Not only will black metal fans be into Sic...Nunc, they could be making some record executives very happy right now. Give these guys a listen and some support!
